Implementation of array comparative genomic hybridisation into NHS genetics services
Royal College of Pathologists
Wednesday 8th July 2009
Array comparative genomic hybridisation (array-CGH) is a powerful technique to detect genomic copy number variation and has been introduced into several UK diagnostic laboratories. However this technology continues to evolve and, furthermore, there is variability in local funding from PCTs resulting in a lack on consistency in availability and level of service within the NHS. This meeting brought together nearly 100 people including laboratory scientists, company representatives, commissioners and public health researchers to discuss the implementation of array CGH into NHS genetic services.
