The
third in our biennial series of meetings entitled New
and Developing Technologies for Genetic Diagnostics was
held in Salisbury (UK) on 7th-8th July 2008. The meeting
focussed on ‘non-invasive prenatal diagnosis
(NIPD)’ and the ‘new generation
sequencing technologies’, two key work areas in the NGRL(Wessex)
work programme for the current quinquennium, as well as
sessions on ‘detection of copy number changes’ and ‘acquired
abnormalities’. The meeting was attended by
126 delegates including speakers and representatives from
companies.
The
distinguished list of speakers included Dennis Lo, Johan
den Dunnen, Orsetta Zuffardi, Mats Nilsson, Ken Mills,
Neil Avent, John Armour, Peter Campbell, Patrick Tarpey,
and Hagan Bayley. Where possible we have made the presentations
available in pdf format for download from this site. These
can be accessed via the agenda
listing. We would
like to thank all who participated for making this our
most successful meeting yet – In particular the speakers
for their clear and informative presentations and our sponsors
(listed below) who made this meeting possible. We look
forward to 2010!
